What if Art Week wasn't just a hotel stay and a list of reservations?

Imagine spending five nights in a beautiful private mansion oozing with character in Mexico City alongside a small group of creatives, travelers and curious people who love art, food, design and culture as much as you do.

Mornings will start with breakfast conversations that turn into new friendships. Then, you'll explore the best of Art Week, from fairs and gallery openings to long lingering lunches. At day’s end, we’ll gather back at home base for a mezcal tastings and a chef dinner, the kind of spontaneous evenings that will become the stories you tell for years. The city will be alive with activity all that week!

I'm partnering with my foodie friend Anais Martínez, founder of Devoured and one of Mexico City's most connected culinary insiders, to curate experiences that go beyond guidebooks and reservations. She’s now penning cover stories for bon appétit, Saveur, featured in The New York Times‍ and Los Angeles Times.

This isn't a retreat. It isn't a tour. Think of it more as a temporary private club with your own key!

Our home for the week is Casa Kahlo, a wonderfully colorful historic mansion in Colonia Cuauhtémoc, just steps from the energy of Paseo de la Reforma and the creative neighborhood of Juárez.

With its dramatic interiors, generous bedrooms, beautiful dining room, multiple lounges, and rooftop terrace, this is a house made for gathering. There's room for long dinners, spontaneous conversations, morning coffee, and quiet moments in between.

And with some of Mexico City's most interesting galleries, restaurants, and cultural neighborhoods close by, we'll have the perfect home base for exploring Art Week at our own pace.

Welcome to Casa Kahlo

An artful home away from home in the heart of Mexico City.

Inspired by the colorful world of Frida Kahlo and the creative gatherings that made her home such a special place, Casa Kahlo is our private residence for five nights during Mexico City Art Week.

Tucked into Colonia Cuauhtémoc, just off Paseo de la Reforma, our historic Californian colonial-style mansion is full of character. Think vibrant blue walls, vintage chandeliers, eclectic artwork, inviting lounges, and a beautiful dining room where we'll gather for meals and conversation.

There's also a spacious rooftop terrace, perfect for morning coffee, an afternoon break, or a glass of wine as the city settles into evening.

What I especially love is the freedom this house gives us. With generous bedrooms and multiple living spaces, guests can spread out, come and go, and enjoy the experience on their own terms. Join the conversation or find a quiet corner. Head out for a gallery opening or stay in with a book. There's no pressure to do everything together.

This is exactly what I envisioned for the salon: a wonderful private home filled with interesting people, great food, and the creative energy of Mexico City just outside our door.

The Neighborhood: Cuauhtémoc, Reforma & Juárez

Art, architecture, fabulous food, and Mexico City at your doorstep.One of my favorite things about our new home is its location.

Casa Kahlo sits in Colonia Cuauhtémoc, a neighborhood of leafy streets, beautiful historic architecture, neighborhood cafés, independent restaurants, and a wonderfully local energy.

We're just a few blocks from Paseo de la Reforma and the iconic Ángel de la Independencia, with the creative streets of Juárez right across the avenue.

During Art Week, this is an especially exciting part of the city. Juárez is home to galleries, design spaces, independent shops, and Salón ACME, one of the week's most interesting contemporary art events.

It's also a fantastic jumping-off point for Roma Norte, Condesa, Chapultepec, and the Centro Histórico, whether you're heading to a museum, meeting friends for lunch, or spending an afternoon discovering something entirely unexpected.

And the neighborhood itself deserves exploring. Think excellent coffee, spontaneous taco stops, intimate wine bars, beautiful architecture, and plenty of places to linger.

I love Condesa, but there's something particularly exciting about being based here for Art Week. We're right in the mix of the city's cultural energy, while still having a fabulous private home to return to.

Space is intentionally limited to create an intimate experience for just 8–10 guests. Room selections are confirmed in the order completed registrations and deposits are received.

Casa Kahlo is a beautiful historic private residence, rather than a traditional hotel. All bedrooms share access to the home's four full bathrooms, thoughtfully located throughout the main house and annex, with an additional half-bath on the rooftop terrace. No bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms.

We're keeping the salon intentionally intimate, so everyone has space to settle in, enjoy the house, and make themselves at home.

Based on first come, first serve. Will try to pair similar travelers if they wish to share based on request and availability.
