Ask someone where they're going in Europe and they'll probably answer with a country.
Ask someone where they're going in the Caribbean and they'll often just say, "The Caribbean."
But that's a bit like saying you're going to Europe without knowing whether you mean Paris, the Amalfi Coast or the Scottish Highlands.
The Caribbean is a collection of dozens of islands, each with its own personality.
Some are built around glamorous beach clubs, designer boutiques and world-class restaurants. Others are volcanic, lush and adventurous. Some are perfect for families. Others are made for honeymooners, sailors or travelers who simply want to disappear for a week.
I've spent much of my career working throughout the Caribbean, first representing The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and later working alongside some of the region's finest resorts, including Tortuga Bay in the Dominican Republic. Today, as a luxury travel advisor, I continue to build relationships with hotel partners, destination experts, tourism boards and villa specialists throughout the islands.

The Caribbean offers incredible variety in a relatively compact region, and choosing the right island often matters more than choosing between two luxury resorts.
